Expanding awareness, sharing knowledge

Thank you to all who participated in the first annual

WORLD PSYCHEDELICS DAY!

June 20th, 2021

and in the NEXT GEN TOWN HALL

on PSYCHEDELIC HARM REDUCTION & DRUG REFORM

On 6·20 we recognize a new age of informed perspectives on the beneficial properties of both modern psychedelic compounds and ancient plant medicines and practices.

6·20 honours the Indigenous wisdom and frontier science that have brought about the current “Psychedelic Renaissance,” a movement which has grown out of the serious, dedicated work of thousands of scientists, therapists, individuals, and organizations challenging the distortions created by prohibition and the War On Drugs. Using social and mainstream media, online discussions, in-person events—health advisories permitting—art projects and music, 6·20 will showcase important insights and increase global awareness of the therapeutic and life-enhancing potential of psychedelics when used responsibly.

WPD 620 is a project of International Psychedelics Awareness Foundation, a non-profit organization welcoming collaborators and allies across all identities, spectrums, and geographies and upholding the values of sustainability, accessibility, diversity, and inclusivity.

June 17th, 2021 marks 50 years since U.S. President, Richard Nixon, declared the War on Drugs but this story really began within one world view, which holds a story about a man and a woman named Adam and Eve who ate from the Tree of Knowledge.

HARM REDUCTION

Harm reduction is a set of practical strategies and ideas aimed at reducing negative consequences associated with drug use. Harm Reduction is also a movement for social justice built on a belief in, and respect for, the rights of people who use drugs.

FOUR PRINCIPLES

Zendo Project’s Four Important Principles of Psychedelic Harm Reduction

  1. Create a safe space
  2. Sitting, not guiding
  3. Talk through, not down
  4. Difficult is not the same as bad
